Boundless Impact is a professional services consulting agency run by Caroline Horste (who creates most of the public-facing "content"), Alli Barkel, and Kyle Martin. In addition to our work with organizations and teams, we pour a LOT of work and effort into the Open Lab and the Manager's Lab – we believe STRONGLY in the ability of purpose-driven professionals in higher education and nonprofit settings to change the world through their leadership, and we do everything we can to support them.

The Manager's Library is a free resource library for higher ed and nonprofit folks to begin to see how they can apply management and leadership principles in their own roles (and whatever comes next). We know that most masters' programs (and early career positions) don't systematically train around management. That's why we're here. :)

The Manager’s Lab is the next step: a holistic, affordable monthly membership for higher ed and nonprofit pros who are ready to level up and hone their management skills without expensive bootcamps or certifications. Learn more here.

Our work with organizations & teams

When we make content around management and leadership, it's because we're in the trenches with our own client work. Boundless Impact's agency capabilities center around four buckets: management consulting, marketing consulting, operations consulting, and impact consulting.

In addition to consulting engagements, we also do team trainings around any of the topics we write about here. Reach out here to learn more!

Our company

Since leaving higher ed, we've all stayed tightly connected to organizations that make work better. Caroline & Kyle sit on the B Local Michigan Committee as part of People First Economy, and Alli sits on the board for Conscious Capitalism in Indiana. We care deeply about social impact and business as a force for good.

Boundless Impact is a certified Good For Michigan company, meaning that we prioritize and live up to a set of sustainable development goals. In accordance with the United Nations Global Compact, find our Human Rights Policy here. We are also a proud member of the Great Lakes Business Network. (We’re an aspiring B Corp, hoping to certify by early 2027 under the new set of standards!)
